Violet Storm
Lyrics
A violet storm drifts over me,
A whispered ache I cannot see.
The treetops sway but never tell,
A muted pulse beneath the swell.
Let the storm rain down on me.
Let it tear the heavens free.
Every shadow I have worn,
Rises up inside the storm.
The violet thins, the night draws out,
A trembling truth I can’t shut out.
The words I chase all come undone
The walls I build fall one by one
Let the storm bear down on me,
Break the walls and set me free.
Every echo, bruised and torn,
Still come calling through the storm
If I could keep the sky from turning,
Stop the names and memories burning,
Would the dawn pull me along,
Or leave me here, still drifting on?
If I tremble, if I shake,
If the sky itself should break -
I’ll stand firm through every form
Of the vandal’s violet storm.
It began with a change in the air. Not a sound; not a warning - just a shift, subtle as breath. A violet hue at the edge of the sky, a colour that did not belong. Some said it was a storm. Others said it was a memory returning. But those who felt it knew it was something older, something long‑waiting, rising through the cracks of the familiar world.
And when the first wind rose, it carried with it the faintest trace of a name no one could quite remember.
